what is your profession (that which you get paid for)?  street sweeper, educator, doctor?

what is your passion (that which you enjoy spending your time in)?  cleaning, teaching, healing?

what is your mission (that which you would die for, that which you live for)? family, religious belief, personal vendetta?

entrepreneur by profession, philosopher by passion, and on a mission to maximize potential.

A true leader has the power to influence.

If there is an election or time to vote, a leader has already won the vote by influencing the voters before the decision.

The speech is merely a formality.

Creating a business involves giving life to a third entity.

To maximize life and growth, we concentrate and surround the entity with as other growing, living things, and prune dead or dying things.

“Things” may involve objects as well as concepts.

Consider:

Gasan instructed his adherents one day: “Those who speak
against killing and who desire to spare the lives of all conscious
beings are right. It is good to protect even animals and insects.
But what about those persons who kill time, what about those
who are destroying wealth, and those who destroy political
economy? We should not overlook them. Furthermore, what of
the one who preaches without enlightenment? He is killing
Buddhism.”

To create motion, there is always some form of friction that must be overcome.

In Newtonian physics, this is static friction.

In chemistry, it is activation energy.

In memes it is tipping point.

As is so for visions – there is a certain amount of focus and energy that must manifest before a vision can be realized.  The greater the vision, the greater the energy of activation.  This is why it always takes more than one person to make massive things happen, and teamwork is so valuable.

“The Greeks were master motivators who understood how to use a “dramatic demonstration” to infuse a spirit of commitment into the heart of every warrior. Once the warriors had been offloaded from their boats onto their enemy’s shore, the Greek commanders would shout out their first order…”burn the boats!” The sight of burning boats removed any notion of retreat from their hearts and any thoughts of surrender from their heads. Imagine the tremendous psychological impact on the soldiers as they watched their boats being set to the torch. As the boats turned to ash and slipped quietly out of sight into the water, each man understood there was no turning back and the only way home was through victory.”

And so must an entrepreneur’s mindset be.  There must be unwavering conviction and commitment to success.

Being an entrepreneur is the closest a guy can get to giving birth.

If you don’t spend time with it, feed and nurture it,  it will die.

Due to your emotional involvement with it, you will experience heights of joy and depths of sorrow.

But there will come a point when it can grow on it’s own, and will leave your grasp.  That will be bitter sweet.
