It is said that if you read 5 books on a particular topic, you will know more than the average person on that topic.
If you read 10 books on a particular topic, you will know enough to have solid discussions with somebody who has studied the topic.
If you read 20 books on a particular topic, you will know enough to teach that topic.
If you read 40 books on a particular topic, you will be an expert on that topic.
Reading books is an excellent way of absorbing information, however it can often be time consuming. Here’s a quick tip I use to absorb information rapidly, and increase my book count:
1. Download audio books.
2. Increase your play speed in windows media player to the maximum your brain can handle. I usually set mine around 1.2x – this allows me to ‘read’ 20% more books in the same period of time.

3. Listen to the audio book while doing mundane, physical tasks (showering, cleaning, cooking, etc)

Benefits of Wearing a Watch
Filed Under Efficiency | Leave a Comment
How often each week do you wonder what the time or date is? How often have you had to pull out your cell phone, check your computer clock, or ask somebody what the time or date is?
Wearing a watch will help you become more efficient by being able to have the time and date on hand (literally) at all times. You will no longer waste precious time searching for the time.
In addition, having a time-piece on you at all times provides the following additional benefits:
- You can track how long any given task is taking you. This is beneficial for efficiency analysis.
- You can provide others with information. It is always good to serve and help when possible.
- You will find yourself more accountable to deadlines and timeliness.
That being said, the next question is what type of watch to wear. Many people go for style and fashion, however the most important factor is function. If you are going to wear a watch, I recommend it has the following features for maximum functionality:
- Seconds counter.
- Day & date.
- Waterproof / water resistant to at least 50M.
- Durable enough to be banged around and survive.
- Should have indigo/the ability to read it at night.
- Should be able to go without charging or battery change for extended periods of time (months if not years)
This is the watch I wear:
Simple, stylish, effective. It is durable, light-weight, unintrusive, and has dual-time zones (which I use for travelling). I initially thought I would use the stopwatch or timer/alarm functions more often, but I rarely use them.
Wear whatever works for you.
